Opps...and the Olympics!

Okay, so maybe I haven’t been too good with this whole blogging thing. Becks told me I’ve been a bad blogger so I’ll try to remedy that. So here’s my Becka inspired
blog...

Have I ever told you how much I love the Olympics?! No? Well, I do. It’s really funny, because everyone knows that I care nothing for sports, but every two years, for two weeks, I become an expert at all kinds of random sports. There is something so exciting and wonderful about the Olympic Games to me. From the opening to closing ceremonies, I watch, wait, and cheer. For me it’s all about the people and their stories. I’m really not a cryer, I’m just not sensitive in that way, in fact, I’ve even been called an ice queen on occasion, but something about the Olympics changes me. Watching the little tiny Chinese gymnasts roll out these hugely amazing flips, knowing that they were basically ripped from their parents hands at age three to train, makes my heart grow. Yes, even a grinch like me. Seeing people do what everyone couldn’t be done makes me all mushy inside. I just love rooting for the underdog and cheering on my country. Witnessing the American men “smash” the French in that 4x100 relay was just crazy exhilarating.

Becka and I are staying at my parents beach house for a few days and when she got here I told her I hoped she like the Olympics, because we were watching them no matter what. She said that was great because she really likes them too. I said, “No, I love the Olympics.” She said, “Well, yeah, me too.” So last night we were watching and first I was giving a running commentary on the men’s beach volleyball, then when I got into the synchronized diving, she said, “Man, you do love the Olympics!” I said, “I told you!”
For two weeks, every two years, I rattle off stats, results, and world records. Just when I get to the height of my mania it ends and I’m sad for about a week. I have to shove my craziness back down and then I appear like the normal sports shunning girl everyone knows and loves...

...at least, until the next Olympics.

That was awesome. Yes, even a grinch like you.

Haha. That was the line that inspired the laugh out loud action right next to you!

Ah, my young blogging friend... so much to learn! You can NEVER excessively blog. It is the very art of good blogging to share most grandiose and even those mundane moments with the world wide web!
